Navigating the Pathways of Transition
through Words and Images
Are you at a crossroads in balancing your life ... body, mind, emotion, spirit?
Are you in the midst of a life change
that has shifted the foundation upon which you stand?
Have you wondered how journaling, writing or collage art might help you become...
More focused? More empowered?
More prepared for the rest of your journey?
Supporting and guiding clients through the process of transition is the heart and soul of my work. Journaling provides the foundational stepping stones along the pathways of change.
Each client who comes to me has a personal story of challenge. Regardless of the genesis of change - a self-directed search for new meaning or coping with unexpected shifts in their health, relationships or financial stability - each one wants to learn new skills for creating balance during times of uncertainty and unpredictability. They are seeking ways to develop clarity and emotional stamina. They are determined to create plans for the steps ahead. They need tools to deal with the depression and/or anxiety that has become an unwanted companion in the midst of all that is happening.
I feel deeply honored to be a part of the journey, weaving together the threads of their collective life experiences, skills and knowledge to create a self-empowering plan of action. I love sharing my professional experience as a journaling coach and instructor to bring forth my clients' own intuitive "knowing," made visible through words (journaling, writing & poetry) and images (Vision Boards, SoulCollage® and art work) upon the page. Being a witness to that "spark" of Inner Wisdom has been one of the greatest joys in my professional career.
Whether you are new to journaling or experienced and want to know more - I can help you become skilled at using journaling as a powerful ally during this phase of your life.
This is what some of my clients and colleagues have to say about our work together...
Rae is one of our strongest instructors. "Rae, we need to split the course into two because we have so many." "No problem!" That pretty much sums up Rae. She's flexible and thoroughly understands what we are about. Her students love her and her evaluations consistently reflect her strong facilitation ability. I'd take a class from Rae any day of the week!"
Kendra Branch-Brett, Program Manager, M.Ed. , Therapeutic Writing Institute
"Rae Hight is an experienced, intuitive professional with a passion for writing. She has combined her varied talents and knowledge to offer professional journal coaching. I would highly recommend her services to those seeking a more creative, holistic exploration of self and one's interaction with one's environment through journal writing. [for those having on-site coaching] ... Her studio and park-like grounds offer a peaceful retreat from the busy world, and you will leave there feeling refreshed and nurtured."
Lou-Ann Lauborough, MSW, LICSW, CSW-G, Clinical Social Worker in Private Practice Port Orchard, WA
"As a person who suffers from depression, I have found that Rae's techniques in journaling have helped me put my life in order. My doctor agrees and even says that he doesn't think I need further therapy. I continue to journal nearly every day and I've found peace."

[It was so helpful] … having a chance to work through my life transitions with someone I felt was truly interested. I felt validated. I felt [Rae] did a great job in her use of active listening and giving positive feedback!
