Understanding Depression through Journal Writing
Journal Writing Classes and Workshops offered at Hight’s Pathway Studio include time to walk landscaped pathways with sanctuary-like alcoves in a natural setting of trees and native vegetation, as well as a 5-circuit labyrinth.
Classes for 10 participants or more may be given at your home, office, organization or facility.
There are no rules to Journal Writing!

JOURNAL TO THE SELF®
A 6-week Journal Writing Class
(2 hours each class)
Have you considered journaling, but just don’t know where to begin? Do you already journal, but wonder if there is a way to be more flexible and spontaneous?
This course, based on the world-renowned Journal to the Self® program by Kathleen Adams, MA, will provide you with a tool box full of simple, flexible, and rewarding journal writing techniques. Whether you want to explore your deepest feelings, organize your thoughts for growth in your personal and/or professional life, or effectively track the events and feelings of your daily life, this course is for you!
You will receive a specially designed workbook and ample time to practice the techniques with other women.

Note: This course is also taught to individuals with the prompts and discussion customized to your unique preferences and questions.
Are you intrigued by the Journal to the Self course, but aren’t able to commit to a weekly meeting? The online version of the 6-week course provides a perfect alternative!
Now you can learn new and interesting journaling techniques in the privacy of your own home, on a flexible weekly schedule and be able to share your writing experiences with others in a closed, confidential Yahoo! Group.
You receive the same guided instruction and feedback throughout the entire 6-week course. Each Monday, writing activities and explanations for new techniques are sent directly to your private e-mail box. During the following week, sharing (actual writings or responses to the techniques) and discussion takes place in threaded conversations.

A 4-week Journal Writing Class

Have you wondered about the interrelationship between your thoughts, physical sensations, moods and spiritual beliefs and experiences? Would you like to understand more about balancing these four very important aspects of your life?
This inspired and flexible class provides a balanced offering of visual journaling (i.e. art work, collage, finger labyrinths, and mandalas) and traditional journal writing techniques. Each week is devoted to a different aspect of your unique being. At the end of four weeks, you will have a new understanding of how to appreciate yourself, holistically, and how to bring that understanding to your daily life.

UNDERSTANDING DEPRESSION THROUGH JOURNAL WRITING
A 6-week periodic or special arrangement class journal writing class
(2 hours each class)
Would you like to learn how to diminish and manage the symptoms of depression? How to feel empowered and be active in your own healing?
Living with depression can feel overwhelming and confusing. It can be difficult to focus on daily activities and to find pleasure. Clinical research has proven that Journal Writing improves emotional healing, stress reduction and strengthening of the immune system.
This unique program teaches you how to personally evaluate the level of your depression and recognize specific signs of improvement. You will also learn how to identify your individual skills in managing your moods and thoughts, as well as strengthening your physical health and spiritual awareness.
